Job Title: Financial Accountant Ideal for an ACA Qualified Accountant looking for a first step into industry from an accountancy practise. Location: Reading Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 About the Company My client are a fast growing energy business with a reputation for innovation and excellence. Their growth has come from organic and acquisitions and now they are looking for a recently qualified ACA accountant to join the finance team. The Role This is a fantastic first step into industry for a practice-trained ACA seeking to apply their technical expertise in a dynamic, group reporting environment. You will gain exposure to consolidations, IFRS, and FRS 102, while supporting statutory reporting and key projects across the group. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS and FRS 102 Support with monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation processes Assist with group reporting packs for senior stakeholders and external auditors Lead elements of the year-end close and external audit process Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies Provide technical accounting guidance on new standards and business transactions Support ad hoc finance projects, process improvements, and system enhancements About You: ACA qualified (first-time mover, ideally from Big 4 / Top 10 audit background) Strong technical accounting knowledge, with exposure to IFRS and/or FRS 102 Experience in preparing or auditing consolidated accounts Confident working with external auditors and senior stakeholders High attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills If you are a newly qualified ACA with strong technical accounting and are ready to make your first move into industry, we’d love to hear from you.
