Your role As the Senior Technical Writer for our Automotive division, you will be responsible for creating, refreshing, and localising high impact technical content that empowers technicians and engineers globally. You will bridge the gap between complex vehicle engineering and practical diagnostic application, using modern, AI assisted workflows to drive measurable engagement. Your work will ensure that our knowledge base, application notes, and product documentation are not only technically precise but also highly usable for independent garages, distributors, and OEM partners alike. What you'll be doing Develop new automotive knowledge base articles, application notes, and "how-to" guides based on insights from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Own the full documentation lifecycle from planning and drafting to reviewing and publishing for blog posts, datasheets, and white papers. Utilise AI tools to assist in drafting, structuring, and optimising content, including generating accessible phrasing and keyword optimisation for better discoverability. Manage the translation and localisation process to ensure our technical content is accurate and culturally relevant for our international automotive audiences. Transform complex diagnostic data into clear, technician friendly formats, such as step-by-step workflows, annotated screenshots, and real-world fault examples. Proactively refresh priority topics including EV/HEV systems, NVH analysis, and serial bus decoding to meet our 180 day content freshness targets. Focus on improving organic traffic and click through rates from the knowledge base to product pages, ensuring content drives commercial value. What you'll need Significant experience in technical writing, automotive diagnostics, or engineering communication. Strong knowledge of automotive protocols and diagnostic tools, such as CAN, LIN, OBD-II, and NVH analysis. A proven ability to translate complex vehicle engineering concepts into simple, actionable instructions for various technician audiences. Excellent written English with a meticulous eye for detail, accuracy, and clarity. The ability to work seamlessly across product, engineering, and marketing functions to gather information and refine content. Familiarity with the processes required to manage and deliver translated content for a global market. A proactive and organised approach, motivated by hitting freshness targets and maintaining high technical accuracy.
