About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Reporting Sonographer (3 years post‑graduate experience) to provide Community Radiology Services at Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital.
The post is part‑time, 15 hours per week, Thursday and Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm. The successful candidate will work independently, delivering caring and compassionate imaging services at the heart of the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out ultrasound examinations in line with BMUS guidelines and professional competence.
* Prioritise and organise own caseload.
* Work independently within a clearly defined set of department protocols, making informed clinical decisions in the absence of a Radiologist and seeking a second opinion when required.
* Formulate and return comprehensive diagnostic reports to the referring clinician for each examination.
* Support the leadership, supervision and line‑management of a team of radiographers, sonographers, image support workers and administrators.
Qualifications & Experience
* 3 years of post‑graduate experience as a Reporting Sonographer.
* Skilled in general, gynaecological and small‑parts ultrasound.
* Experience in vascular scanning (DVT) is an advantage.
* Demonstrated competence aligned to NHS pathways, NICE and BMUS guidelines.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Professional Development
