Role Overview
This is a community role covering the Fylde and Wyre localities, requiring independent travel beyond public transport and the ability to travel to other areas if needed. The position, at band 6 level, supports the development of the Occupational Therapy (OT) role within the Children’s Community Learning Disability team.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions to support, maintain or restore occupational functioning.
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver OT assessments, evidence‑based interventions and support to children with learning disabilities and their families and carers.
* Support families with sleep difficulties, self‑care tasks, sensory needs and meaningful activity engagement, through parent workshops or direct work with young people and families.
* Collaborate with local teams across Lancashire and South Cumbria, contributing to service development and training initiatives.
* Deliver agile and office‑based work, travelling independently to the Fylde, Wyre and other localities as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Band 6 level Occupational Therapist with experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi‑disciplinary community setting, adapt to complex needs, and provide high‑quality, forward‑thinking services.
Working Conditions and Benefits
