Duties
* Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to detailed plans and specifications
* Mix mortar and other materials to appropriate consistency for different applications
* Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels with skill and safety
* Utilise power tools including drills, saws, and mixers to facilitate efficient construction processes
* Measure dimensions accurately and mark guidelines for precise placement of materials
* Construct or repair walls, facades, arches, chimneys, and other brick structures
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other tradespeople such as carpenters and roofers
* Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
* Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is highly desirable
* Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and hammers
* Familiarity with power tools relevant to masonry tasks
* Knowledge of masonry techniques including bricklaying, pointing, sealing, and finishing
* Basic understanding of carpentry, roofing, and welding is advantageous but not essential
* Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
* Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
* Valid health & safety awareness related to construction sites
