As part of the Maintenance team you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home to maintain a safe environment.

About The Role
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible to the Home Manager for the upkeep of the Care Home and surrounding grounds, undertake planned maintenance of the home ensuring excellent first impressions to all who visit
2. Ensuring the smooth operation and serviceability of all services such as heating, lighting, plumbing and non-medical equipment required for the safe and efficient operation of the Home.
3. Maintaining the home's exterior including pathways and driveways, flowerbeds, potted plants, and grassed areas to enhance first impressions. Ensure external lighting and signs inside and outside the home are clear, visible, and in good repair.
4. Ensuring compliance and essential checks are completed, identifying and reporting all maintenance defects. Engaging proactively with all stakeholders to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and to a high standard.
5. Undertaking decorating, including painting, wallpapering, minor refurbishment, and maintenance within the home.
6. Providing out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the on-call rota and offering temporary cover for sister homes when needed.
7. Being trained as an active Fire Warden, keeping up to date with policies and procedures, and inducting new staff as required. Assembling and installing new equipment or goods delivered to the home.
8. Assisting with fire and water risk assessments and reviews. Carrying out plumbing, joinery, and general building repairs to a good standard.
9. Maintaining the company vehicle and conducting basic safety checks.
10. Promoting independence and lifestyle opportunities for older people, working unsupervised.
11. Carrying out fault finding and basic repairs to equipment such as catering and laundering machines.
12. Contributing to the delivery of specialized services with passion and commitment.
