Clinical Lead Therapist for Stroke (Band 8a)
The Clinical Lead Therapist for Stroke is an exciting new role which will be integral to the transformation of stroke therapy services at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, following significant investment in inpatient stroke services in the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of clinically excellent stroke rehabilitation, working alongside a friendly and progressive stroke multi-disciplinary team including medical, nursing, psychology, AHP and support staff.
The purpose of this role is to be accountable for the clinical and operational delivery of the therapy service on the stroke ward. The role will provide visible and proactive clinical leadership, acting as the Therapy Clinical Lead for issues, challenges, and escalation in relation to multi-disciplinary care planning, transfer of care and the discharge process.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide professional leadership, motivation and supervision to ensure high standards of clinical reasoning and competence are achieved across the service. Additionally, they will work in partnership with our key operational leads and stakeholders; drive operational performance against agreed Trust and National SSNAP requirements ensuring safe, responsive discharge services and high- quality stroke rehabilitation intervention for our patients.
The post holder will advocate and promote the role of Stroke Rehabilitation across the stroke pathway. Finally, the post holder will develop excellent relationships with all our key internal and external stakeholders in particular our wards, divisions and system level partners across community services, social care and the voluntary sector

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Physiotherapy or Speech and Language Therapy
* Registration with the HCPC
* Evidence of continuous professional development through career including in leadership
* Certificate in Managing Health Services or equivalent / other postgraduate leadership courses
Experience
* Demonstrates advanced experience of working in Stroke Rehabilitation
* Experience of quality improvement, service development and planning
* Experience of quality improvement, service development and planning.
* Experience of workforce management
* Experience of: handling complaints, change management, business planning and performance management
Knowledge
* Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Stroke Rehabilitation
