Powder Coating Technician
Location: Bradford Euroway Industrial Estate
Salary: £16.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent/Temp
Hours: Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm (40 hours per week)
Swift Temps Engineering are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Powder Coating Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business based at their head office on Euroway Industrial Estate, Bradford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented individual with strong powder coating experience, who takes pride in delivering high-quality finishes and maintaining excellent safety standards within a fast-paced production environment.
Powder Coating Technician – Immediate Start Available!
What you’ll be doing:
• Performing all stages of surface preparation including cleaning, sanding, degreasing, shot blasting, masking, and priming
• Setting up and operating manual and automated powder coating guns and booth equipment
• Selecting appropriate powders, colours (including RAL), and finishes to meet job specifications
• Applying powder coatings evenly to achieve consistent coverage and high-quality finishes
• Monitoring and adjusting oven curing times and temperatures
• Inspecting coated components for defects such as uneven coverage, contamination, pinholes, or sags
• Carrying out touch-ups and rework where required while minimising material waste
• Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and carrying out routine preventative maintenance
• Following all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Keeping accurate production records, batch logs, and material usage data
• Working closely with fabrication, production, and quality teams to meet deadlines
What we’re looking for:
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in powder coat spraying (essential)
• Strong knowledge of powder types, coating techniques, and curing processes
• Experience using manual and automated powder coating systems
• Ability to operate spray guns, ovens, blasting equipment, and coating booths
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify coating defects
• Understanding of quality inspection methods such as thickness and adhesion testing
• Good physical stamina and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
• Strong organisation and time management skills
• Health & Safety awareness is essential
• Ability to read technical drawings (desirable)
