Role responsibilities

The Postholder will be required to deliver components of the TfW revenue protection strategy. To compile
work packages for investigation and provide support for such investigations including prosecution case files
as appropriate. This role will also support the wider revenue protection remit and interface with internal and
external stakeholders while also providing some administrative support to the team.

1. Analyse data obtained from scans to identify trends in digital fraud to reduce harm to the business.
2. Preparation of evidence packs from scan data for each individual offender.
3. Design and maintain tailored contact templates for each individual workstream
4. Compilation and maintenance of records containing information of all contact withoffenders and up to date progress of each individual case, to be handled in line with GDPR
5. Where offending falls below the threshold of recompense, issue warnings to prevent
behaviour continuing and ensuring correct revenue paid in the future
6. Ensuring process in place with appropriate mechanisms to allow offenders to make recompense.
7. Liaise with customers, presenting the allegation of offence and evidence held against them. Respond to any mitigations offered by the customer and progress either through settlement or prosecution.
8. Calculation of monies owed including set administrative fees
9. Initiation of Revenue Recovery Process with TfW’s approved prosecutions and settlements team, secure handling of data and a clear and open line of communication with them
10. Regular contact with TfW’s approved prosecutions and settlements team to ensure that those who have agreed with TFW to pay then do so in a timely manner
11. Follow up with TfW’s approved prosecutions and settlements team on any customers who then fail to pay and agree the next steps regarding implementation of the prosecution
process
12. Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of railway law, fraud legislation, stated cases and any other legislation that arises as relevant to the differing workstreams and evidence
presented.
13. Prepare documents for court proceedings, whether they be initiated by TfW’s approved prosecutions and settlements team or British Transport Police. Ensure that all paperwork is prepared and submitted in line with timescales relevant to the legislation being considered.

Who we’re looking for

14. Be able to understand basic railway operations, geography and challenges relating to fraud and casual fare evasion
15. Must be fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
16. Experience of working to demanding timescales while remaining calm under pressure
17. Comply with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and adhere to a strict code of confidentiality
18. Extremely well organised and able to work to sound processes
19. Knowledge of railway byelaws and the Regulation of Railways Act is desirable

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
