Its connection base has grown 20 % per YoY to reach more than 187 million connections at the end of financial year 2024. Vodafone IoT is a leader in the IoT Connectivity Gartner Magic quadrant and has been for 11 consecutive years.
This role represents an exciting opportunity to define the future of the business architecture for Vodafone IoT, as it continues to evolve to remain the market leader in global IoT connectivity.
What you'll do
Role Purpose:
This is a critical role to the IoT business, which will lead on business architecture and service design across all business functions including marketing, sales, support, quoting, ordering, billing and in-life service management. It will deliver successful outcomes through a team of internal, shared service and 3rd party resources.
Vodafone IoT is embarking upon a multi-year transformation of processes and systems and this role will also act as the business architecture and scope lead on this programme of work.
For the right candidate, this role offers a unique opportunity to define and drive a large scale business transformation from the front, and implement a step-change in experience for our customers and employees to keep us firmly at the top of the market.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
Business Architecture Team Management
* Line management of a team of internal and 3rd party service designers and business architects
* Measuring and improving the effectiveness of the Business Architecture function
* Operating model evolution for the business architecture team/function (people, processes & tools)
* Demand management and resource allocation to projects
* 3rd party professional services procurement, where required to augment internal capacity
Business Architecture
* Working with business function owners (marketing, sales, product management, customer operations, supply chain management, pre & post sales support, finance, legal, technology operations, HR) to define, document and agree the target business capabilities, value streams, processes and operating model
* Identifying pain points and opportunities to improve the business operating model
* Guiding project teams on alignment to the business architecture blueprint
Service Design
* Producing service design specifications for projects introducing new products, changing the technology landscape or launching in new markets
* Updating business process models & artefacts
* Obtaining review and sign-off from business function and operational owners
* Issuing "Ready for Service" approvals for projects
* Input into training and detailed work instructions
Transformation Business Lead
* Owner of the Epic backlog for the Transformation portfolio
* Working with business owners to define Epic hypothesis statements and with technology teams to t-shirt size the effort
* Owning prioritisation of the Epic backlog and development of Epic roadmap
* Managing the Product Owners for new capabilities being introduced across marketing, sales, support, quoting and ordering
* Chairing the business decision board and presenting key decisions to CxO leadership where required
Who you are
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
* Extensive experience in telecommunications business architecture including business capability modelling, scoping, process design and operating model
* Very strong stakeholder management skills (including influencing and mediation), with technical and non-technical teams up to CxO level
* Large scale business and technology transformation experience (£10m+ project size)
* Managing teams of internal and 3rd party resources
* Preferable: Functional knowledge of CRM applications and processes (marketing, sales, quoting, ordering and support) and relevant frameworks e.g. TMForum
