The Job Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this job will see you manage and develop a team, oversee core finance operations, and drive process improvements. You will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, efficiency, and strong controls across the business, while supporting wider strategic initiatives including a major systems transition from Sage to Dynamics 365.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a team of 6 within Purchase Ledger, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
* Oversee treasury and cash management, including supplier payments.
* Take ownership of accruals, prepayments, VAT, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Ensure accuracy and efficiency across purchase ledger operations and supplier relationships.
* Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
* Assist with external audit processes and cashflow forecasting.
* Lead process improvements and support the transition to new systems.
* Manage high-volume accounts payable across multiple ledgers and key accounts.
* Drive team performance to meet invoice processing targets and service levels.
About You
* Experienced in a team management role with strong leadership skills.
* Solid knowledge of purchase ledger, treasury, and cashflow management.
* Hands-on with Excel (pivots, lookups, data handling).
* Comfortable leading a mixed-experience team in a fast-paced environment.
* Collaborative, pragmatic, and proactive with excellent communication skills.
* Keen to get involved in projects beyond your core remit and contribute to continuous improvement.
