HGV Fitter (Full-Time)
Hybrid - North West England
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation for an experienced HGV Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional looking for long-term stability, strong earning potential, and career progression.
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday
* 6:45am - 5:15pm (10-hour shifts)
* Overtime and weekend work available as required
The Role
You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a fleet of HGVs and plant machinery, ensuring all vehicles and equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
* Carry out scheduled servicing (e.g. brakes, oil, filters)
* Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
* Maintain accurate service and repair records
* Support junior team members and apprentices
* Adhere to all health & safety standards
Key Requirements
* Proven experience as an HGV Fitter
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
* Confident using diagnostic tools and equipment
* Ability to work independently and prioritise workload
* High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Full UK driving licence (HGV licence required)
* Valid Driver CPC
* Flexibility for overtime and call-outs
