Position: Design & Technology Teacher Location: Norwich Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 DT Teaching Role in an Academy An ambitious Academy in Norwich is seeking to appoint a creative and technically skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join its successful department from September. Design & Technology is a popular subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical understanding through hands-on design and making activities. About the Role You will teach Design & Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire creativity and independence. Students will explore areas such as product design, resistant materials, engineering principles, CAD/CAM, and iterative design processes while developing strong making, modelling, and evaluative skills. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design & Technology qualifications, supporting high-quality coursework, practical projects, and strong academic outcomes. You will work collaboratively within a successful DT department while benefiting from well-equipped workshops, modern resources, and a strong focus on student progress. Key Responsibilities Teach Design & Technology across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver engaging practical workshop-based lessons Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level DT qualifications Support coursework, design projects, and prototyping work Maintain safe workshop environments and procedures Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development Support STEM and design enrichment opportunities The School Environment This Academy in Norwich provides a structured and supportive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
