Your Role and Responsibilities
As the Clinical Lead, you will:
* Oversee all aspects of clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring patient safety and clinical effectiveness.
* Drive service development initiatives and act as an advisor on policy implementation.
* Champion research and innovation to create new clinical guidelines and service protocols.
* Collaborate with Turning Point colleagues nationwide to enhance patient care.
* Provide clinical supervision and training to fellow clinicians.
* Embrace the opportunity to teach students from various disciplines within the MDT.
You will also be responsible for treating our most complex patients, providing expert advice on:
* Diagnosis, assessment, and care planning, particularly regarding complex drug interactions and comorbid conditions.
* Accepting referrals for individuals with severe or complex needs.
* Offering expert oversight of psychosocial support based on comprehensive research evidence.
* Introducing innovative interventions to improve outcomes and service quality.
* Conducting complex prescribing, including injectable opioid substitution treatments.
* Providing liaison services in acute medical and psychiatric settings and offering expert advice to courts.
* Collaborating with stakeholders such as HM Coroners courts and probation services.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist, GP Specialist, or a suitably qualified Specialty Doctor to step into the role of Clinical Lead. Your clinical expertise and leadership skills will be essential in driving service delivery and development.
The ideal candidate will:
* Be accredited as a ‘specialist’ in substance use treatment.
* Meet one of the following criteria:
o Listed on the GMC’s Specialist Register as a psychiatrist with an endorsement in addiction.
o Have equivalent training and experience certified by the GMC through a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR).
o Be on the GMC’s GP Register with appropriate training and experience.
o Fulfill the criteria of a specialty doctor in Addictions with relevant experience.
