Job summary
We are relocating Elective Colorectal & Lower GI Cancer Surgery and Stoma Reversal Surgery from Royal Sussex County in Brighton to the Worthing site, creating a centre of excellence for Colorectal Cancer Surgery across Worthing and St Richard's hospitals.
This new post will support service delivery, focusing on providing dedicated administrative support to the Stoma Care Nursing Team. Responsibilities include maintaining office procedures, online diary management, uploading activity data, booking clinics, formatting and sending clinical letters, liaising with patients, and becoming proficient in our databases. You will also handle departmental ordering, record keeping, planning meetings, producing minutes, and maintaining communication within the team. The role requires professionalism, independence, and the ability to manage sensitive communications.
Main duties of the job
1. Update and maintain the patient database accurately and promptly.
2. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in patient information.
3. Assist in producing audit reports to monitor departmental activity.
4. Inform dispensing appliance contractors of discharge requirements.
5. Book clinical activities and record patient outcomes in Careflow.
6. Manage medical notes and departmental records.
7. Update staff rotas, including leave and training.
8. Organize meetings, take minutes, and disseminate information.
9. Act as a liaison for the Stoma Care Nursing Team with internal and external stakeholders.
10. Handle queries efficiently and with good judgment.

Person Specification
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths
* Advanced keyboard skills (RSA 2/3 or equivalent)
* Intermediate IT skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Email, Internet
* NVQ or HNC in Business Administration
