Overview
You will be joining a dedicated and motivated small team undertaking an integral and varied role. This is an excellent time to join us as we step out on an ambitious path to widen our portfolio. The post-holder will work with the Dorset HealthCare Research & Development team to deliver first-class quality care to research participants and researchers who support research activity across the Trust. The role involves supporting a portfolio of clinical trials in accordance with clinical trial protocols, laboratory manuals and all relevant regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
* Assist in delivering a portfolio of clinical trials in accordance with clinical trial protocols, laboratory manuals and regulatory standards.
* Collect and manage research data and study documentation, including screening, consenting and interviewing study participants, and maintaining research data records.
* Enter activity data and extract information from databases; provide clinical and administrative support to Research Nurses/Research Practitioners, including performing clinical tests and investigations, phlebotomy and laboratory work in processing and shipping samples.
* Support, and be responsible for, relevant studies, potentially in your own right.
* Work across all Dorset HealthCare locations, including the Weymouth Research Hub.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Phlebotomy (blood taking) trained and able to engage with patients in a friendly and supportive manner.
* DBS check is required; enhanced DBS check funded by the Trust. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
* This is a fixed-term role with the potential for secondment; please obtain permission to be released on secondment before applying.
* Applications from candidates requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. The Trust will cover the cost of the check. The post holder will be expected to support the Dorset HealthCare Research & Development team in delivering high-quality care and research activities.
