The role

As a Mental Health Nurse within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will be part of a compassionate and forward‑thinking multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality inpatient care. You will play a key role in supporting individuals through their recovery journey, using a person‑centred and strengths‑based approach to care.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

* Duration: Permanent
* Location: Gartnavel Royal Hospital
* Hours: Full Time (36 Hours)
* Working Pattern: 12‑hour day shift


Key responsibilities

* Deliver holistic, person‑centred nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes
* Act as Named Nurse for a defined patient group, building therapeutic relationships with patients and carers
* Undertake risk assessments and contribute to risk management planning in line with policy and legislation
* Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness in accordance with clinical standards
* Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support recovery and safe care transitions
* Supervise and support Healthcare Support Workers and contribute to the learning and development of others
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and escalated concerns appropriately


Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

* Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration
* Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience
* Evidence of continuing professional development and engagement in reflective practice
* Sound knowledge of mental health conditions, recovery approaches and relevant legislation
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective therapeutic relationships
* Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and make informed clinical decisions
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and using digital systems to support care delivery
