Overview
Customer Delivery Driver - Bolton Horwich Extra at Tesco. Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location. It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
Availability windows will be published; we will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of exact shifts. We aim to support flexibility for colleagues, and if your available times closely match but aren’t exact, we’d still love to hear from you.
As the face of Tesco out on the road, you’ll deliver to customers in homes across a wide area. This role is about delivering great service with a smile and helping customers, not just driving. It’s hands on, physical and full of variety. You’ll be part of a larger team with Managers and colleagues back at base for support when you need it.

You will be responsible for
* Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by keeping the van and trays clean, tidy and organised.
* Leaving the customer's area clean and picking up any litter as you see it.
* Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van, checking the van for roadworthiness.
* Communicating with the customer about changes to their order, substitutions, and offering refunds where appropriate.
* Handling products/deliveries with care and delivering within the customer’s time slot.
* Calling the customer before arriving if you are early, and contacting the store if you will be more than 30 minutes late.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and help keep the store best for customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, understanding customer needs and saying thank you.
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations and balance work and life.
* Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
