Main duties of the job
We are looking for a motivated, skilled and caring professional to join a friendly and cohesive team of dedicated paediatric radiologists at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Job responsibilities
* Provide a comprehensive diagnostic paediatric radiology service including general plain radiography, CT, ultrasound, and MRI.
* Participate fully with the varied work of the department including dedicated on‑call rota.
* Lead imaging in multidisciplinary meetings.
* Contribute to training and quality improvement activity.
* Encourage the development of a subspecialty interest in collaboration with colleagues; subspecialty training in paediatric neuroradiology is not essential but will be accommodated, as will dedicated paediatric interventional radiology.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Training & Experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* GMC registration with a licence to practise
* Appropriate knowledge base, and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
* FRCR or equivalent
* Experience of Paediatric Radiology with at least 1 year of subspecialty training in a recognised centre
* Independent performance and reporting of all general paediatric diagnostic imaging
* Independent performance of pneumatic reduction of intussusception and standard emergency paediatric fluoroscopy or readiness to be trained in this technique
* CCT Radiology
* MRCP or FRCS
* Publications in Paediatric Radiology
* Fellowship in Paediatric Radiology
* Experience of working in paediatric trauma imaging
* Independent performance of gastrojejunal feeding tube changes
