Do you have experience in aseptic production, manufacturing, laboratory, or pathology? Would you like to join our small but growing pharmacy technical service?
We are seeking a motivated support worker who holds an NVQ 2 in pharmacy services or an equivalent qualification, or is willing to undertake this qualification. If you have manufacturing or laboratory experience, this is an exciting opportunity to change direction.
The successful candidate will be dynamic, flexible, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail and fine manual dexterity skills.
Our service provides a wide range of chemotherapy and other aseptically prepared medicines to patients across Buckinghamshire from our two main hospital sites, Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe.
This role is both interesting and varied, offering unlimited learning opportunities. We are a developing, improvement-led team committed to supporting your growth. We provide comprehensive training resources and opportunities to develop in technical services and the wider pharmacy sector. Future progression towards the NVQ 3 registered technician qualification is also available.
The main responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining an up-to-date broth test and hatch transfer validation to work in the aseptic suite.
2. Preparing cytotoxics, monoclonal antibodies, and other aseptic products daily in accordance with standard operating procedures.
3. Ensuring handling and storage procedures are strictly followed for cytotoxic/aseptic medicines and managing spillages according to departmental protocols.
4. Cleaning isolators on a sessional basis.
5. Assisting in the Quality Control and Quality Assurance of the aseptic preparation area as per standard operating procedures.
