Business Analyst – Reinsurance Pricing (Contract)

We are working with a leading global insurer that is embarking on a transformation of its reinsurance pricing function. As part of this initiative, we are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support end-to-end business analysis activities, from stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering to testing, delivery, and continuous improvement.
This role will suit someone who has extensive domain knowledge in reinsurance, particularly pricing and actuarial workflows, and is comfortable operating in complex environments with multiple global stakeholders. A background in the London Market is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Elicitation & Facilitation
* Work closely with stakeholders across reinsurance pricing, actuarial, exposure, and technology teams.
* Lead requirement-gathering sessions via workshops, interviews, and focus groups.
* Reconcile conflicting inputs and translate them into clear, structured documentation.
Requirements Management
* Produce detailed and testable user stories with acceptance criteria using BDD or similar frameworks.
* Capture both functional and non-functional requirements, including technical integration points and data mapping.
* Create visual artefacts such as ERDs, process maps, and decision trees to support development.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as the key liaison between business users and IT delivery teams.
* Build strong relationships across the pricing, actuarial, underwriting, and technology functions.
* Navigate and balance differing stakeholder needs, ensuring business priorities are effectively communicated and managed.
Testing & Change Delivery
* Contribute to QA activities including test case review, exploratory testing, and defect triage.
* Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and help prepare end-user documentation and training materials.
* Assist with change readiness planning and communication.
Agile Delivery & Continuous Improvement
* Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
* Track progress against deliverables, proactively manage risks, and escalate blockers where necessary.
* Recommend process improvements, tool enhancements, and emerging technologies that align with strategic goals.
Candidate Requirements:
* 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst within insurance or reinsurance environments.
* Strong exposure to reinsurance pricing systems and processes (London Market experience strongly preferred).
* Familiarity with actuarial, exposure, or crisis management functions is a significant advantage.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale transformation or pricing initiatives.
* Skilled in writing user stories, mapping data flows, and documenting integration requirements.
* Proven stakeholder management and facilitation capabilities in matrixed, global organisations.
* Working knowledge of API endpoints and cloud-based delivery solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS) is beneficial.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
* Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and modelling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart) preferred.
