What the job involves
Designing and programming control systems (using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA) for ships, offshore equipment, and renewable energy systems.
Writing project documents (design specs, testing procedures, reports).
Creating detailed designs - e.g. I/O lists, alarm lists, cause & effect diagrams.
Working with purchasing and production teams to source equipment and resolve design issues.
Testing & commissioning systems (in the factory and on-site, sometimes abroad).
Supporting clients after installation.
What they're looking for
* Likely degree-qualified in Electrical, Controls, Instrumentation, or Marine Engineering.
* Strong with Siemens TIA Portal (other platforms like B&R a plus).
* Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (MODBUS, PROFINET, CANBUS, etc.).
* Hands-on experience with variable speed drives, switchgear, instrumentation.
* Bonus: electrical design or hydraulic systems experience.
* Good teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
