The Role
The Technical Service Officer, Computer Aided Design (CAD) is responsible for maintaining and developing the estate database with particular reference to layout plans, service plans, on the computerised database. Providing a drawing service to the Operational Maintenance Officers, within NHS Lanarkshire, and also assist in feasibility studies and capital projects. To design & maintain excel/access database solutions and to update existing manual spreadsheets equipment/ordering/record keeping systems. Also to introduce new computer based systems to operate across PSSD and provide training, supervision for these. Train others when and if required in the use of CAD.

What we'll need you to bring
HND Architectural Technology with CAD with a good working Knowledge and understanding of building engineering and statutory requirements.
Have knowledge of construction technology, management, legislation, procurement procedures and building regulations.
Plan, design and prepare estate projects, including liaison with contractors and suppliers etc.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Architect desktop and other software such as Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Database applications etc
Have highly developed physical skills and accuracy, for the manipulation and; preparation of drawings using CAD, and use of surveying tools & equipment
Have sound knowledge and experience of complex 2D & 3D technical drawings, 3D graphics and visualisation, the ability to generate presentations using these drawings.
Team player as well as ability to work on own, with man management experience and leadership qualities, adaptable, logical and methodical in approach to problem solving, with the ability to work out what is needed for a task to succeed.
Have excellent problem solving and good interpersonal skills, with th to manage change.
The ability to take responsibility and work cooperatively with others as well as being highly motivated and self directed.
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
Degree in computing or engineering
High proficiency level in the use of personal computers, particularly in Excel, Access and Auto CAD
Knowledge of Technical standards within the Health Sector
Highly motivated and self – directed.
Excellent communication, written and oral skills
