About the Company - For over 37 years, CEMBRE Ltd has been designing and manufacturing solutions for connection and termination of electrical conductors: connectors, cable lugs, and tools for our Installation, cable glands, automatic and manual marking systems. With rapid growth plans at our manufacturing facility in Sutton Coldfield, we are now looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our expanding team.
About the Role - Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the Environmental Advisor is responsible for cultivating a strong sustainability and environmental culture across all areas of the business. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge and experience and be able to provide and implement strategic solutions. Part of a small team, this role will work closely with the HSE Advisor and the Quality Engineer.
Responsibilities
1. Keeping up-to-date with any changes in environmental law.
2. Conducting environmental inspections and site assessments.
3. Collating findings and reporting data to the senior management team.
4. Producing company procedures and policies about environmental concerns and emissions targets.
5. Auditing and updating environmental targets regularly.
6. Implementation and maintenance of BS:EN:ISO-9001, BS:EN:ISO-14001 & BS:OHSAS45001.
7. Communicating environmental requirements across the organisation.
8. Ensuring the continuous monitoring and assessment of environmental practices.
9. Supporting auditing measures and completing specific auditing duties.
10. Conducting field surveys to establish a baseline for levels of pollution or contamination for a site.
11. Liaising with site teams, clients, regulatory bodies, and the wider environmental teams.
12. Implementing policies and standards.
13. Heading up the Sustainability meetings.
14. Implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement action plans.
Education and Skills
1. 5+ years experience in an Environmental role.
2. Degree/HND/HNC in a related field (Environmental, Quality, Manufacturing).
3. Membership of a professional body related to environmental.
4. Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & 45001.
5. Familiar with established management tools, project, and planning techniques.
6. 2+ years experience in the manufacturing industry, with specific focus on working with copper and aluminium metals.
7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products.
8. Knowledge of Sustainability or Net Zero.
