Job Description
The Industrialization Lead (NPI Engineer) will be responsible for New Product Introduction products. This role involves collaboration with multiple functions such as Manufacturing, Program Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain in a team environment.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and participate in responses to RFP requirements from potential customers regarding Industrialization, including the development of recurring and non-recurring quotes. Verify and maintain current cost models based on product and equipment evolution.
2. Suggest industrial schemes (Make or Buy) and incorporate all industrial constraints (manufacturability, processes, means), ensuring that RETEX is considered.
3. Contribute to the development of product development logic (LDEV).
4. Plan, implement, and coordinate NPI activities such as prototype build, qualification, design, specifications, process validation, training, and test strategies, aligned with project milestones and tollgates, following APQP/PPAP processes.
5. Act as the interface between Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure Design for Manufacturing and manufacturability issues are addressed early. Review specifications and communicate concerns.
6. Provide technical input for Test Equipment Development and test coverage strategies.
7. Present project status, progress, and KPIs, and manage project risks through reports and reviews.
8. Monitor costs, including recurring and non-recurring expenses related to industrialization and investments.
9. Apply problem-solving, lean principles, and best practices to improve products and processes. Collaborate with SMEs to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
10. Lead efforts to achieve product maturity, manufacturability, process maturity, and test maturity (PFMEA, KC analysis).
11. Ensure training plans, work instructions, BOMs, and critical processes are developed and implemented before transitioning to production.
Candidate Profile
* Post-Secondary Degree in Industrial, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years of project leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in electronics or aerospace.
* Experience in NPI, process validation, PFMEA, Design for Manufacturing, APQP, PPAP, and project management.
