Scrutiny Officer - Lateral Move Permanent Grade 4 - £34,434 - £41,771 Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week Job Overview: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Scrutiny Office as a Scrutiny Officer, supporting the Overview and Scrutiny Committees in their vital role of holding the Executive and senior officers to account and policy development. This is a key role within the Council's democratic governance structure. The role involves working closely with elected members and supporting committee meetings. It also includes gathering and analysing information from a wide range of sources to produce clear, timely briefings. You’ll also support policy development through project work and respond to ad-hoc requests for information. You’ll play a key role in organising and analysing surveys, consultations, and questionnaires, while also providing administrative support to the scrutiny process. This includes coordinating the attendance of witnesses, preparing them for their contributions, and representing the Scrutiny Office at meetings when required. We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, able to work effectively with elected members and a range of different council departments, confident in handling data, and committed to equality and diversity in service delivery.
