About The Role:
We are recruiting Facilities Operatives for our Birch Lea Park Housing with Care development in Hattersley, Tameside. The site offers 91 modern apartments and on-site services, including tailored care packages.
Purpose of the role: To deliver high-quality caretaking and building maintenance, ensuring a safe and positive environment for extra care housing customers.
Working hours: 5 days out of 7, including one weekend day (alternating Saturdays and Sundays) with a weekday off.
Responsibilities include:
* Health & Safety compliance, including fire alarm checks and winter preparations.
* Building management tasks, including repairs, security, litter removal, and contractor access.
* Performing low-level repairs and assisting with move-ins.
* Providing excellent customer service.
* Accurate record-keeping and following safety procedures.
Essential skills and qualifications:
* Experience in a similar handyman role.
* Effective communication skills.
* Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
* Experience with power tools.
* GCSEs in maths and English or equivalent.
Desirable qualifications:
* IOSH or COSHH certification.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check for Adults.
