Overview
The team operates seven days a week with a 9.5 hour shift pattern (8-6 or 12-10). The post holder will be responsible for the clinical leadership of more junior team members, prioritising workload and utilising resources appropriately to ensure that service user needs are met. The team is also responsible for gate keeping admissions to the acute admission wards. The role includes providing a service to individuals who present with a mental health crisis who may require a period of crisis intervention as an alternative to admission.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to junior team members and prioritise workload to meet service user needs.
* Gate keep admissions to the acute admission wards.
* Provide crisis intervention as part of a multi-disciplinary mental health crisis service.
* Work independently as required, including lone working in the Stockton and Hartlepool area.
* Participate in regular supervision and attend training opportunities to develop clinical skills.
Requirements / Qualifications
* 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
* This is a band 6 post open to registered nurses, occupational therapists and social workers with current relevant registration with the NMC, HCPC or SWE.
* Ability to travel independently across the locality and access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes (adjustments considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010).
* Sound assessment and written communication skills, and the ability to act on own initiative.
