At Nuffield Health, the UK's largest healthcare charity, everything we do for our patients, members, and customers is made possible by dedicated professionals like you. Your passion, warmth, and drive to make a difference are invaluable. This is an exciting time for our national Diagnostic Imaging service. We have invested in state-of-the-art equipment and recently appointed a new Diagnostic Imaging Director. We are poised to elevate patient care standards — and it all begins with you.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, patient-focused individual with strong communication and computer skills to join us as an Admin Team Leader at our hospital. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, under pressure, with experience in a medical environment and an understanding of clinical terminology.
You will lead a team of administrators who serve as the first point of contact for patients, liaising closely with clinical teams to ensure timely and appropriate appointments. You will be responsible for overseeing an administrative area, supervising staff, and ensuring excellent customer and colleague service, along with managing and interpreting data and information.
Our department is friendly and comprises admin staff, HCAs, and Radiographers, covering two floors with services including CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, Fluoroscopy, X-ray, Mammography, and Ultrasound.
As a Radiology Administration Team Leader, you will:
* Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by yourself and your team.
* Provide efficient appointment options to patients, consultants, and referrers, considering the urgency of requests.
* Have a thorough understanding of procedures and preparation requirements.
* Register patients upon arrival.
* Address queries from patients and consultants.
* Manage bookings and information via email and telephone.
* Book additional services necessary for patient care, such as blood tests.
* Be fully competent with CRIS, PACS, IEP, and PIMS systems.
* Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation within the department.
* Implement change, multi-task, and work effectively under pressure.
* Manage rotas and annual leave for your team.
* Train new staff and ensure mandatory training is up to date.
* Undertake tasks as assigned by the Radiology Manager.
