What you’ll be doing
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act, RIDDOR, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER and Fire Safety regulations
* Develop, review and maintain policies, procedures and risk assessments
* Work closely with maintenance and operational teams to implement safe systems of work, including permits, isolation procedures and contractor controls
* Conduct site inspections, audits and monitoring activities across multiple locations
* Lead and support incident reporting and investigations, producing clear reports with root cause analysis
* Deliver training, toolbox talks and briefings to staff at all levels
* Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the organisation
* Support managers and teams with practical health and safety advice
* Maintain accurate, audit‑ready records and produce reports for senior leadership
* Act as the main contact for external health and safety consultants and support annual inspections
Who you are
* Strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
* Confident working in environments such as healthcare, estates, facilities or other operational settings
* Excellent communicator, able to engage with frontline teams and senior leadership
* Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities independently
* Analytical with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
* Confident delivering training and influencing a positive safety culture
* Team player who is approachable, supportive and solutions‑focused
* NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)
* IOSH membership (TechIOSH/GradIOSH)
* Experience within health and social care or similar regulated environments
* Training or “Train the Trainer” qualification
