Job Summary
St Lawrence College is a leading co-educational independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 to 18, located in the coastal town of Ramsgate, Kent. We are seeking a highly professional and proactive Executive Assistant to the Head to join our dynamic team. This is a key role providing high-level administrative and strategic support to the Head, requiring exceptional organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
Role Overview
The Executive Assistant will support the Head of College in leading the school with vision and purpose. This role is central to the effective running of the Head of College's Office and requires someone who reflects our ethos of excellence, humility, and faith-informed leadership.
Reporting Lines
The EA to the Head of College reports directly to the Head of College.
Working Hours
20 hours per week, Monday – Saturday (as necessary to support the Head of College's diary)
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Administrative Support
· Manage the Head of College's calendar, correspondence, and travel arrangements
· Draft and refine communications, reports, and presentations with clarity and warmth
· Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies
· Support the Head of College in strategic planning and operational priorities
Communication & Relationship Management
· Act as a trusted liaison between the Head of College and staff, parents, governors, and external stakeholders
· Coordinate meetings, agendas, and follow-ups
Event & Project Coordination
· Support the organisation of key school events including open days and formal occasions
· Support the Head of College in delivering the school's strategic vision and initiatives
Skills & Attributes
· Outstanding organisational and time-management skills
· High emotional intelligence and a calm, diplomatic approach
· Excellent written and verbal communication, with attention to tone and detail
· Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive information
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Confident communicator in any setting
· Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards is essential
Desirable:
· Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or in a senior administrative role is desirable.
· Experience in an educational or faith-based setting is highly desirable
