Applications EngineerLocation: Midlands (Field & Office-Based)Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Company Car + BenefitsOverviewWe are recruiting for an experienced Applications Engineer with a strong background in CNC machining and programming to support customers across the Midlands. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role focused on demonstrating machine capabilities, optimising machining processes, and providing technical expertise across a range of CNC solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support and applications expertise for CNC machine toolsDevelop and prove out machining processes for customer componentsProgram CNC machines (milling and/or turning) using offline and on-machine programmingDeliver machine demonstrations, run-offs, and customer trialsSupport the sales team with technical input during the pre-sales processAdvise customers on tooling, workholding, and process optimisationTroubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times and efficiencyDeliver customer training on machine operation and programmingWork closely with internal engineering and service teamsRequirementsProven experience working with CNC machines (milling and/or turning)Strong CNC programming experience (e.g. Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain)Background as an Applications Engineer, CNC Programmer, or MachinistAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience with CAD/CAM software (desirable)Strong problem-solving and process improvement skillsConfident communicator with customer-facing experienceFull UK driving licenceWhat's on Offer£40,000 - £45,000 basic salaryPerformance-related bonusCompany car or car allowancePension and benefits packageOpportunity to work with advanced CNC technologiesCareer progression within a growing engineering businessWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
