Flexible Administrator/Crisis Worker – Penrith, Cumbria (36–42 hours/week)

About The Role

Location: The Bridge Way SARC, Cumbria

Salary: £27,920.97 pro rata based on 42 hours per week (£12.75 per hour)

Hours: 36–42 hours per week

Rota: 12‑hour shifts Monday–Sunday 9am–9pm

This vacancy offers a compassionate professional the opportunity to support victims of sexual assault within a growing, innovative and market‑leading service provider within Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARC). The role of Flexible Administrator/Crisis Worker is critical in providing victims with the dedicated support and care required, acting as an advocate for patients who attend the centre, empowering service users to feel in control and supporting them throughout the forensic process.


Key Responsibilities

* First point of contact for service users.
* Administration and support for service users and their families, including preparing the patient and assisting in the collection of forensic evidence.
* Support the SARC Manager with day‑to‑day running of the centre.
* Maintain high standards of DNA anticontamination between forensic cases (cleaning).
* Assist patients and liaise with other agencies regarding the management of the service user pathway.
* Act as an advocate during patients' time at the SARC, providing support and preparation.
* Liaise closely with wider stakeholders such as Police, NHS England, ISVA and Social Services.
* Contribute as a key player within the SARC team and wider company network.

Essential Skills

* Good IT skills
* Experience working in a supportive or customer‑focused environment
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults
* Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality
* Experience completing administrative duties
* Female applicants only – genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e
* UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (additional travel may be required)
* Advanced DBS and Level 2 Police vetting required


Desirable Skills

* Experience working with individuals who may have complex needs
* Experience working with individuals who have experienced sexual assault/violence
* Experience creating and utilising resources and using distraction techniques
* Project development and outreach experience
* Training and presentation skills
