Sales Development Manager
Location: Holmes Chapel
Contract: Temporary (Minimum 12 months - Maternity Cover)
Hours: Part Time - 3 Days per Week (Approx. 22.2 hours)
Salary: £38,000-£39,000 (subject to pending pay award) so £22,400 for 3 days

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Sales Development Manager to lead and implement strategic initiatives that drive membership growth, maximise retention, and enhance overall sales performance.
This is a key leadership role responsible for developing membership strategies, analysing pricing structures, and using data insights to inform future sales direction. Working collaboratively across departments including Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience, you will ensure successful implementation and promotion of offers while maintaining a strong focus on value and competitiveness.
This is a temporary contract for a minimum of 12 months to provide maternity cover.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Development
1. Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives to increase memberships and revenue
2. Monitor market trends and stay informed on industry developments
3. Review and analyse current membership pricing structures, recommending adjustments to maximise competitiveness and perceived value
4. Identify opportunities for growth through data-led insights
Performance & Reporting
5. Utilise data analytics tools to generate actionable insights and identify sales trends
6. Prepare and present regular reports on membership sales performance, retention rates, and customer feedback
7. Monitor KPIs and implement corrective strategies where necessary
8. Provide performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Team Leadership & Development
9. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of sales representatives
10. Provide structured training, coaching, and ongoing support
11. Set clear performance targets and support the team in achieving individual and collective goals
12. Foster a high-performance, motivated, and results-driven sales culture
Cross-Department Collaboration
13. Work closely with Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience teams to ensure successful promotion and implementation of offers
14. Ensure alignment between sales initiatives and wider organisational objectives
15. Support the delivery of campaigns that enhance membership acquisition and retention
Skills & Experience
Essential:
16. Proven experience in sales management or business development
17. Demonstrable success in driving membership or subscription growth
18. Strong analytical skills with experience using data to inform decision-making
19. Experience reviewing pricing strategies and commercial positioning
20. Team leadership and coaching experience
21. Excellent presentation and reporting skills
22. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration experience
Desirable:
23. Experience within membership-based, leisure, fitness, or subscription-led environments
24. Experience using CRM and data analytics systems
25. Relevant qualification in Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field
