Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet business waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This is an agile working role, with up to 50% UK-wide travel.
What you’ll do:
* Provide specialist direction and advice to assigned EHS teams and project leads for environment and sustainability to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
* Support risk management by defining an appropriate environmental assurance regime, including risk-based audit programs, ensuring effective audit and assurance practices through inspections and audits.
* Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bid responses.
* Support the development and maintenance of performance data and the provision of carbon management reports for customer and contract requirements.
* Ensure regular reviews of key Business Unit environmental aspects and impacts, including climate change risks.
* Support Bid, Design, and Operational Teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout the Project Life Cycle.
Who you are:
You will have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum Qualification - PIEMA
* ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor
* Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
* Experience delivering tangible reductions in environmental impact through product lifecycle stages
* Experience managing complex technical and change/improvement projects
* Full driving license and flexibility for UK-wide travel
