Building Fabric Technician Permanent, Full time Monday- Friday – 37.5 hours. Great Western Hospital, Wiltshire, SN3 6BB S alary – up to £3 2 ,000.00 depending on experience plus Serco benefits. To provide safe and efficient maintenance of the Building Fabric and equipment within the hospital as directed by Estates Supervisors and Management Main Accountabilities: To carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing commissioning and maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant and Equipment inc. Fire doors, Fire stopping, Floor repairs within all areas of the Hospital as directed by Supervisors or Managers. To carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment. To work in accordance with all relevant Serco Policies & Procedures, Workplace Regulations and Best Practice Guidelines To take a proactive approach to the development and review of Health & Safety systems, work instructions and working practices To always work in a safe and responsible manner with full regard for own and other’s safety Be prepared to train and develop Apprentices and Trainees as appropriate and directed. Be prepared to develop and mentor others within the team To attend work in compliance with the Computerised Time & Attendance System To use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required To be prepared to attend work or work beyond expected finishing time in exceptional circumstances, as requested by Supervisors or Managers Communicate to Supervisors or Managers unrepaired faults or defects or requirements for Spare Parts To attend on-site and off-site training as required To be aware of how the Technician Role influences Serco’s GWH Contract Contract and the wider company objectives Be prepared to take on Authorised Person Duties if required which could include but not limited to Fire Ap, Confined Spaces, Working at Height (All training will be provided) Requirement to work shifts covering Monday - Sunday to cover on site operational hours of 7:00 – 19:00 What you’ll need to do the role: Certificate of Higher education Higher Level Certificate (HNC) Level 4 Certificate/Diploma/Certificate Level 4 NVQ Member of appropriate technical body Proven experience of working in a similar environment Knowledge and understanding of Building Fabric systems within healthcare · Good communication and customer service skills What we offer Up to 6% contributory pension scheme. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
