We’re looking for an experienced Sales Team Manager to lead a team of regional and national sales managers within a growing technical engineering organisation operating in the electrical power and infrastructure sector.
This is a leadership role where you will drive sales strategy, develop key customer relationships and support a high-performing commercial team to deliver sustained growth.
Your Role:
Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will lead from the front while supporting and developing a team of regional and national sales managers.
The role combines strategic sales leadership, key account management and hands-on support with the sales team to win new business and grow existing customer relationships.
You will ensure effective use of CRM tools, manage sales pipelines and forecast performance while building strong partnerships with customers across the UK and beyond.
What you'll be doing:
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives.
* Lead, coach and develop a team of regional and national sales managers.
* Support the team with lead generation, opportunity development and joint customer visits.
* Take ownership of a number of key strategic accounts.
* Drive effective use of CRM tools to manage sales pipeline and opportunities.
* Monitor performance against sales targets, pipeline and KPI’s.
* Forecast orders and set performance goals using available sales data.
* Build senior-level customer relationships and negotiate major contracts.
* Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and penetrate new markets.
* Collaborate closely with engineering, marketing and commercial teams.
* Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews with the sales team.
* Ensure sales processes and account plans are effectively implemented.
* Provide monthly sales reporting to senior leadership.
* Represent the business at exhibitions, CPD events and industry events across the UK and internationally.
What we're looking for:
* 10+ years of technical sales experience within the electrical power, engineering or technical manufacturing sectors.
* Experience within LV/HV switchgear, transformers, electrical infrastructure or power systems environments is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership experience with a proven track record of developing and managing sales teams.
* Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
* Commercially focused with a target-driven mindset.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
* Proactive, forward-thinking and customer-focused.
* Full UK driving licence required.
