Job Description
An Electrical/Electronic Architect is required for a long-term contract role based out of Stevenage, Bristol, or Bolton.
Overview of department:
Missile Architecture - Electrical Architects/Engineers are involved in all aspects of missile development, from early concept studies to series production and in-service support.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the electrical architecture and requirements for missiles and/or their associated launcher systems, including:
1. Specifying/determining:
o System electrical requirements
o Interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems/equipment
o Power architecture, including power budget and power profiles
o Data communication and processing architecture
o Requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening
o Signal safety, including routing of safety-related signals
2. Supporting test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification, and integration.
3. Reviewing and authoring reports, guidelines, and processes.
4. Design assessments and analysis.
5. Working to defence/industry standards.
6. Attending and supporting design reviews.
Alternatively, acting as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment(s) that are part of a missile or launcher system, you will:
1. Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification, and manufacture.
2. Own the requirements on behalf of the project for the equipment(s).
3. Produce Statement(s) of Work for the associated design authority for the equipment(s).
4. Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment(s).
5. Manage internal & external design authorities for delivery of the equipment(s) hardware, software, and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality, and performance.
6. Hold regular progress reviews with the design authority for the equipment(s).
7. Review qualification verification evidence.
8. Track and resolve equipment non-compliances.
9. Attend and support design reviews.
