About the role:
The role involves carrying out a range of maintenance and repair tasks within tenanted properties, including changing taps, bathroom facilities, and general repairs and maintenance in bathrooms and kitchens. The successful candidate will be expected to perform plumbing tasks, holding a certified core trade. Repair and refurbishment works should be completed on time and to a high standard, in line with standard operating procedures. The candidate will take ownership of construction, fault finding, and maintenance repairs, aiming for first-time completion while adhering to budget and time constraints. A professional approach is essential, with the customer experience at the forefront, including appearance, use of company ID, vehicle condition, and compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires using a handheld device (PDA) to process work activities such as worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence, van stock management, and risk assessments. Company assets must be maintained in good condition, with any damage reported promptly. The candidate will also source materials, attend meetings and training sessions, and participate in out-of-hours call-out cover when required to ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction.
Key Criteria:
* UK full driving licence
* Provide hand tools
* NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing
All roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work in the UK. Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship. To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their licence for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points. All roles are subject to relevant DBS/security checks before employment.
