Senior Business Analyst
Location: Edinburgh / Alderley Park (Manchester) (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite)
Contract: 6 months
Day Rate: £460 Inside IR35
The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst. We are looking for experts with proven experience in large-scale transitions or complex change environments, able to navigate operational, technical, and people-centric change to ensure a smooth, well-governed, and high-quality transition.
This role allows you to play a critical part in driving programme success. With your knowledge of the financial services industry, strong analytical skills, and passion for business and data analysis, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.
About the Role
1. Take ownership of medium to complex change initiatives, including defining scope, with guidance on more complex aspects where required
2. Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders, proactively driving engagement and discussions
3. Define scope, priorities, and benefits with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding
4. Facilitate workshops, gather requirements, analyse non-functional requirements, and perform current and ‘to be’ state analysis
5. Analyse processes and data, presenting well-considered options for consideration
6. Document analysis outputs thoroughly, ensuring source traceability and adherence to standards, delivered within agreed timescales
7. Define user acceptance criteria
8. Apply BA toolkit knowledge and processes independently, seeking guidance where necessary
9. Peer review outputs and provide feedback to other analysts
10. Maintain and update skills within the area of specialism and contribute to best practice evolution
Your Profile
11. Experienced BA, able to work independently and coach others where necessary
12. Able to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
13. Self-motivated, decisive, and able to adapt to change and competing demands
14. Delivery-focused mindset and ability to work in fast-paced environments
15. Strong communication and influencing skills to support and guide others
16. Excellent data analysis skills
17. Experience with migrations is an advantage
Essential Skills
18. In-depth knowledge of UK workplace pension processes, including auto-enrolment, annuities, and scheme maintenance
19. Familiarity with pension administration platforms and related workflows
20. Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
21. Experience using Visio for process mapping
22. Attention to detail and adaptability to regulatory changes
23. Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
24. 6–10 years in the UK life and pensions domain, or workplace pensions
25. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or related field
26. Professional pension or financial services qualification is a plus
