Our Client an Engineering company are seeking an Lead Mechanical Engineer for a permanent position in Warrington location. This role is placed within Oil & Gas, Nuclear or highly regulated industry.
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for leading the development of Mechanical engineering and design within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects and these projects will range from Concept Design to Execution Designs. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
There is an initial requirement to support projects within the nuclear sector. You will also have the opportunity to deliver projects working in other sectors (Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and Food), small and large projects.
You are responsible for leading and driving quality in engineering designs and projects including the checking and approval of design deliverables and You will lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
As a Lead Mechanical Engineer you will h old a qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering, preferably to Degree level (BEng or MEng)
Demonstrable experience (5 years plus) as Lead / Senior / Principal Engineer, in multi-discipline engineering projects
Have a working knowledge of general engineering standards and specification (Essential) and nuclear standards and specifications (Preferred)
Knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical engineering and implementing these in design
Experience mechanical specifications, basis of design, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, 3D models, schedules, design risk assessments and directive compliance assessments
Mechanical design packages including for example, AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II
Able to meet UK security clearance requirements (SC Clearance Preferable)
