Information about the vacancy
We are seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a pivotal role in shaping the Trust’s financial future. This is an exciting opportunity to join a values-driven organisation at a key stage in its development.
About the Role: As CFO, you will be a strategic leader, balancing operational excellence with high-level insight to ensure long-term financial health and growth. You will work closely with the CEO and Leadership Team to develop and implement strategy, resource priorities, and deliver sustainable objectives.
We are looking for someone who brings a modern approach to finance leadership. You will also demonstrate lateral thinking to realise financial opportunities across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the Trust’s financial strategy, ensuring compliance and sustainability
• Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO and Board.
• Oversee financial operations, reporting, and risk management.
• Line manage the Trust Operations Officer and Trust Finance & Procurement Officer.
• Drive efficiencies and innovation across finance and procurement
Essential Requirements:
• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CIPFA) or equivalent experience.
• Significant senior-level financial leadership experience.
• Strong strategic planning and risk management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• High level of organisation.
• Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
Desirable:
• MBA or other professional management qualification.
• Experience within education or public sector finance.
• ISBL level 5 in Leadership and Management.
