Overview
We are looking for an experienced Head of Financial Management to join our small finance team. The role involves coordinating financial performance, planning and reporting activities across an organisation with a £33m budget, supporting cost improvement plans, and leading the financial management team.
Responsibilities
As Head of Financial Management you will:
* Lead the Financial Management Team.
* Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts and consolidated finance pack for committees.
* Business partner with clinical and operational managers, delivering the organisation’s financial strategy and meeting targets.
* Prepare financial models and plans for new initiatives and projects.
* Provide financial advice for procurement or tendering of new services or initiatives.
* Maintain robust financial controls, processes and procedures.
* Coordinate and implement the annual budget and financial plans.
* Provide technical finance support for business‑as‑usual and project activities.
* Coordinate finance training for non‑finance colleagues.
* Drive continuous improvements in business processes and controls, and develop team capabilities.
Qualifications
CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant, preferably an active member of a professional body.
Experience
• Proven experience managing financial management teams and delivering complex financial reporting.
• Established track record of budget setting and financial process management in public or private sectors.
• Experience in contract monitoring, procurement and tendering processes.
• Demonstrated ability to improve business processes, productivity and efficiency.
Skills
• Strong accounting and reporting skills; advanced Excel proficiency.
• Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills.
• Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
• Effective time‑management and organisational planning.
• Experience with cloud‑based accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
• Project management and stakeholder relationship skills.
Benefits
