Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Production Operative (Electropolishing) to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electropolishing Operative in a machine shop environment, you will be responsible for the surface finishing of precision metal components using the electropolishing process. This role supports the production of high-quality parts by improving surface finish, corrosion resistance, and cleanliness, particularly for stainless steel and other alloys.

Ensuring compliance with the Company Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Policies, reporting any potentially dangerous issues/faults to your direct report, including but not limited to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Demonstrate a positive attitude to training and personal development.

Monitor the performance of the process ensuring maximum output is achieved at all times.

Carry out and document the correct quality control checks for each job performed, completing all production paperwork.

Work with the Machine Shop team to ensure departmental targets, company targets and customer deadlines are achieved.

1. Set up and operate electropolishing equipment according to specifications.
2. Prepare metal parts by cleaning, degreasing, and inspecting for defects.
3. Monitor the electropolishing process, adjusting voltage, temperature, and chemical concentrations as needed.
4. Rinse, dry, and inspect finished components to ensure quality standards are met.
5. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
6. Assist with general machine shop duties as required.
7. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work area.
8. Adhere to correct procedures.
9. Ensure that all documentation is completed at the correct time.
10. Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, including handling of chemicals and PPE usage.
11. Perform the necessary safety checks to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the department and to operate in a manner conversant with the training given.
12. Ensure adherence to 5S in the department.
13. Transfer to other areas of the department as and when requested.
14. Ensure that the department’s machines are kept in good working condition. Report any major maintenance issues immediately.
15. Responsibility to ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Regulations made under that Act which are relevant to site activities.
16. Ensuring compliance with the Company Safety, Health and Environmental Policies.

Skills/Experience:
17. Good level of numeracy and general education
18. Basic knowledge of computers
19. Previous experience in a machine shop and/or metal finishing environment preferred.
20. Familiarity with electropolishing or chemical finishing processes is an advantage
21. Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and have a keen eye for detail
22. Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small or delicate components.
23. Focused on target completion and proven ability to achieve results
24. Must possess a positive working attitude
25. Ability to work well as part of team and communicate with other workers
26. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and have a keen eye for detail
