WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
As a Maintenance Engineer at our Widnes site, your responsibilities will include ensuring equipment reliability and performance through high-quality Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive maintenance. This role is vital for minimizing production downtime and maintaining our reputation for excellence in pest control solutions.
* Preventative Maintenance: Be a key user of the (CMMS) and be accountable for completing high quality Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to schedule and delivering reactive maintenance across the site, including the site facilities to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
* Reactive/Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair equipment failures promptly to minimize production downtime followed by Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to BASF statutory safety requirements and regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
* Collaboration: Be a key contact on site when liaising with contractors during breakdown/repair work or planned maintenance following BASF’s permit to work standard at all times.
WHAT YOU OFFER
* Must hold a minimum NVQ level 3 in an Engineering related discipline or similar recognised qualification i.e. Apprenticeship or equivalent, with preference for mechanical bias with an understanding of electrical systems.
* Some experience in similar engineering role and ideally have experience of screw feed systems, pneumatics, vacuum pumps, motor/gearbox assemblies.
* A proactive individual with proven problem-solving abilities to detect and address issues efficiently, while maintaining clear communication within the team.
* Experience with handling Computerised Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) e.g. SAP/Maintenance Connect would be highly desirable.
