Overview
Our client, a partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their Calibration & Maintenance Team. The role involves servicing Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE). Responsibilities include fault finding and repair of test equipment, supporting routine calibrations, commissioning of test equipment, and conducting drift analysis. The ideal candidate will work within a skilled team of Calibration & Maintenance Engineers, supporting complex test platforms used in the manufacture and testing of advanced missile systems. Training will be provided to calibrate and support specialized factory test equipment, utilizing technologies from DC to Microwave.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Operators and Technicians working in the C&M department.
* Maintain and repair Test and Measuring Equipment at the component level.
* Generate clear and comprehensive maintenance records for traceability.
* Test the safety systems of Test and Measuring Equipment following documented procedures.
* Commission and accept test facilities, ensuring correct configuration and proper control over the configuration.
* Provide technical support to facilitate servicing of STTE to enable production testing of hardware and repair phases of the contract, assessing related equipment issues and directing support services to resolve equipment failures.
Requirements
* Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (highly essential).
* Experience and knowledge in test equipment maintenance of test systems down to the component level.
* Ability to provide technical advice, fault finding, and repairs using instructions, handbooks, drawings, and specifications down to component level.
* Ability to manage multiple issues, tasks, and priorities concurrently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Desirable: experience and knowledge in the use of RF test equipment.
* Experience with testing systems such as DIO, AIO, RF, temperature, and communication systems.
* Excellent communication skills, including tailoring communication to specific audiences.
