Job Description
An apprenticeship is a paid job where you will learn and gain valuable on the job experience, whilst also completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship you will gain the HNC & SVQ, and/or a BEng civil engineering degree which is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (The Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Engineers).
The apprenticeship will typically be undertaken over 60 – 66 months, and during this time you will be provided with real life experience working on a variety of projects and on completion will have fully satisfied the requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer by the relevant professional engineering institution.

Develop knowledge of infrastructure design standards and best practice guidance
Deliver safe by design projects
Contribute towards sustainable development that will allow us to deliver Net Zero infrastructure
Learn new digital skills and use it to drive innovation in project delivery
Learn on the job with support for colleagues
Develop inter-personal skills
Ability to work independently when appropriate and contribute to problem solving
Application of the theory you learn at University to your project work
Supervising the production of drawings and 3D BIM models
Assist project managers and engineers with preparing technical reports and design, including the production of BIM models
Development of BIM compliant schemes
Undertake infrastructure design work in a variety of areas
Production of engineering reports, calculations and specifications
Operating in accordance with the Company's health, safety, environment and quality standards
Production of clear and well-presented reports, specifications, and other engineering documentation
Co-ordinating with the other professionals like architects, surveyors, contractors, etc.
As you gain experience and seniority, you will handle more complex work like managing other apprentices, more advanced design or analysis, work, management of the more complex projects, etc.
Candidate Specification
Standard Entry Requirement: BBBB including Maths (Higher Applications of Maths not accepted). National 5 Grade C in English.
Minimum Offer Entry Requirement: BCCC including Maths (Higher Applications of Maths not accepted). National 5 Grade C in English.
