SEN Support Teaching Assistant
A primary school in Stockport is looking for a SEN Support Teaching Assistant to join their team to help assist children with additional needs to reach their potential in the classroom. The school is committed to delivering high-quality education and fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where all pupils are supported to develop academically, socially and emotionally.
Role Description
- Provide academic and emotional learning support to students with Special Educational Needs.
- Support students both in whole class settings, smaller intervention groups and in 1-to-1 sessions as required.
- Responsible for the wellbeing and safeguarding of all students in their care.
- Supporting students targeted intervention in key subject areas such as phonics and maths.
- Supporting SEN children with their personal, social and emotional development.
- Managing difficult behaviours as required.
Role Requirements
- Experience working in an education/childcare setting.
- A passion for education and supporting SEN children.
- Experience working with SEN children and managing difficult behaviours and additional needs.
- Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.
- Desirable – A relevant TA or SEN support qualification.

An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service is mandatory for this role. If you do not currently have one, you will need to apply through Teaching Personnel as part of the vetting process.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
