Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Automation Tester to join a growing team delivering secure, mission‑critical systems within a highly regulated environment.
This role is ideal for a testing professional who enjoys building robust automation frameworks, improving software quality, and working closely with development teams to deliver reliable solutions. You'll play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle, helping to ensure applications meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites
* Create and execute automated test scripts across multiple environments
* Work closely with developers, business analysts and stakeholders to define testing requirements
* Identify, record and track software defects through to resolution
* Support the integration of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
* Perform functional, integration, regression and system testing activities
* Contribute to test strategy development and quality assurance best practices
* Produce clear test documentation, reports and evidence where required
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across testing and delivery teams
* Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborative engineering activities
Required Skills & Experience
* Commercial experience in Automation Testing or Software Test Engineering
* Active SC Clearance
* Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar
* Experience testing APIs and backend services
* Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
* Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery processes
* Experience working within Agile environments
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable Skills
* Experience within Defence, National Security, Government or other secure environments
* Knowledge of Java, Python, JavaScript or C#
* Experience with performance or non‑functional testing
* Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
* Familiarity with container technologies including Docker
* Understanding of security testing principles
* Experience working on large‑scale enterprise systems

* Active SC Clearance is required for this role + eligibility for DV Clearance
* DV Clearance sponsorship is available for successful candidates
* Due to the nature of the work, additional security checks may be required
