Overview
Foundation Year Teaching Associates for the Humanities Course (2 positions): 1 in Classics and 1 in English. Rewley House, 1 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JA.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year seeks to appoint Classics and English teaching staff for the Astrophoria Foundation Year Humanities course. Working closely with your subject team and the wider Humanities teaching team, you will be responsible for delivering subject specific elements of the programme. For Classics, this may include teaching classical languages and linguistic skills.
These positions will be fixed term variable hours contracts to end July 2028. The primary role of the post holder will be to prepare and deliver teaching within the relevant modules as described in the job descriptions in a way that will help students work towards the intended learning outcomes. The post holder will set and mark classwork and assessments, as well as monitoring and reporting academic engagement.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
